VA Newington Temporary Boiler Connection

AmeriTech Contracting completed the first phase of the Boiler and Chiller Plant Replacement Project at the VA Medical Center in Newington, Connecticut. The project included installing a temporary boiler connection system that kept the hospital's heating system operating while the existing boiler plant was replaced. Our team installed high-pressure steam, natural gas, domestic water, blowdown, electrical, and mechanical systems, along with concrete equipment pads, pipe supports, and temporary access walkways. All work was performed in an active healthcare facility and required careful planning, utility shutdown coordination, and compliance with VA safety and infection control requirements.

We coordinated multiple subcontractors, managed utility tie-ins, solved field challenges, and kept the project moving despite equipment procurement delays and changing project conditions. Through strong communication, careful planning, and a commitment to quality and safety, AmeriTech completed the project on budget, maintained uninterrupted patient care, and delivered a reliable solution that supports the VA's long-term facility improvements.
