Project Summary

This high-security project focused on the removal and replacement of perimeter fencing
at a secure New England military installation and involved multiple sectors of the
construction industry, including electrical, earthwork, and security specialists.

Scope of Work

  • Perimeter Fence Replacement: The existing fence, including galvanizedcomponents like barbed wire, double “V”-shaped outriggers, top rails, and fenceposts, was replaced in accordance with UFC 4-022-03 Security Fences andGates standards. Spanning approximately 10,000 feet, this new installationenhances the overall security and strengthens the protective boundary of thefacility.
  • Landscape Removal: To ensure clear visibility and security along the fence line,70 heavily vegetated sections were cleared. Tree limbs obstructing surveillancewere also trimmed, improving the overall perimeter monitoring capability.Swing and Sliding Gate Installation: New access control gates were installed,including a cantilever sliding gate and a pedestrian gate, equipped with the latestmechanical and electrical components. These gates meet UFC 4-022-03standards, ensuring secure and controlled entry points.
  • Security Monitoring Devices: Fiber-optic cables for perimeter monitoring werecarefully handled throughout the replacement process. Coordination with theInstallation Security Service Provider ensured the cables were removed andreinstalled as needed, maintaining uninterrupted security monitoring.

This project demonstrates AmeriTech Contracting’s high level of precision and attention to detail, highlighting the importance of strict adherence to security protocols and collaborative expertise from various construction divisions. By upgrading and reinforcing the perimeter fencing, the security posture of the facility was greatly enhanced, effectively mitigating potential threats and unauthorized access.
